Cleaning balls

The company “Polyurethane” produces balls from solid polyurethane of various colors, diameters and hardness. Cleaning balls in stock and custom-made

Scopes of polyurethane balls

For cleaning the inner surface of oil pipelines from deposits.

During the operation of the main oil pipelines, paraffin deposits form on the inner surface of the pipes, which leads to a decrease in its cross section. The throughput of the pipeline worsens, the quality of the pumped product decreases. Pipe wear and contamination of valves occur. As a result, the cost of pumping the product increases. Therefore, it is necessary to timely and accurately diagnose and clean the inner surface of the pipes from asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits.

Cleaning the inner cavity of the pipe using polyurethane balls allows to get high quality cleaning. This reduces wear, clogging, prevents the reduction of throughput and increases the efficiency of the systems and its durability.

Using polyurethane balls allows:

  • – to clean the interior surfaces of oil pipelines from paraffin and dirt,
  • – to displace the product and foreign objects from the pipes,
  • – to separate multi-stage oil products during sequential pumping along the internal cavity of the pipeline.

Spare parts for diaphragm pumps

Due to the properties of the material, polyurethane balls with a metal core or without it, are used as spare parts for diaphragm pumps for pumping highly viscous and chemically aggressive media (food industry, pulp and paper industry, petrochemical industry).

Mill loading balls

Balls made of polyurethane with a metal core are used as loading balls for mills. Grinding polyurethane balls are used for soft grinding and grinding of soft samples in laboratory planetary mills in testing laboratories.

Cleaning sieves of screens (screen cleaners)

Without forced cleaning of the sieves during screening mixtures, after a while the sieve is clogged, the amount of sifted product is reduced. Cleaning sieves of screens with the use of polyurethane balls increases the permeability of the product.

Advantages of Polyurethane Balls

Balls made of polyurethane are durable and wear resistant. They are resistant to repeated deformations and have low abrasion.

The shape of the ball and the trajectory of movement (rotation) of the polyurethane ball in the pipeline during cleaning ensure its uniform wear during prolonged use. The average mileage of a ball made of polyurethane is from 200 to 400 km. When washing pipes with polyurethane balls, ball sticking does not occur. The ball easily passes all the bends of the narrowing of the pipeline without damage.

Polyurethane balls are highly resistant to oils and chemically aggressive environments. Easily tolerate temperature fluctuations from -40 ° C to +70 ° C. They have dielectric properties. (more info ..).

How to choose balls for cleaning the pipeline

During operation of the pipeline due to corrosion, the wall thickness decreases, while the layer of internal deposits on the walls increases. This leads to a decrease in the actual internal diameter of the pipeline. Therefore, the selection of balls must be made according to the actual value of the inner diameter of the pipeline and the state of the wall of the pipeline.

Polyurethane company produces uniform balls from solid polyurethane with a diameter of 25 mm to 70 mm of various hardness  and color (more about the relationship between color and hardness of polyurethane ..).

  • PU54 / M71 – hardness 71 units Shore A, orange
  • PU54 / M80 – hardness 80 units Shore A, green
  • PU54 / M87 – hardness 87 units Shore A, blue
  • PU54 / K92 – hardness 92 units Shore A, black

It is possible to manufacture polyurethane balls of different hardness, diameter and on individual request.

For effective cleaning of the pipeline, a set of balls of various hardness is required – from “especially soft” 55 units Shore A to “solid” 65-95 units Shore A. At the first start, a soft ball is applied first, then balls with increasing hardness. The use of balls of different hardness allows you to go through narrowing up to 30% of the inner diameter of the pipe and bends at an angle of 900 with a turning radius of up to one inner diameter.
